Agnes Grey was published in December 1847. Although it was sold exceptionally well Agnes Grey was outshone by Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights. Literaıy historians have seen in Anne Bronte's novels a realistic rather than a romantic style. Her novels like those of her sisters have become part of the classics of the world and English literatüre.
