Gelince Haber VerFollowing the assassination of Hrant Dink on January 19, 2007, the office of Agos newspaper where he served as editor-in-chief located in the Sebat Apartment building, opened its doors in 2019 as the 23.5 Hrant Dink Site of Memory. Established to keep alive Hrant Dink's legacy and the values he defended, this space as part of the global network of sites of memory invites its visitors to think together toward a future where peace reigns and living side by side is possible.
This book addresses the echoes, across different geographies, of the values Hrant Dink defended both in relation to the site and independently of it. Through texts in dialogue with lived experiences stretching from South Africa to Palestine, and from America to Europe, it shows that the concerns Hrant Dink speaks of are not specific to any single community; they are universal concerns that find resonance throughout the world. Consisting of five sections Memory, Truth, Confrontation, Action, and Hope the book invites us to listen to Hrant Dink's voice, and to the authors who add their voices to his, with hope for a future where similar pain will never again be experienced and where living together is possible.
